YARDLEY, PA, January 7, 2008 -- Activant Solutions Inc. today announced the release of Activant Eclipse™ Mobile Advanced. Building on functionality available in Eclipse Mobile Basic, this new solution allows distributors to access commonly used data and place orders from a wireless device.

Activant Eclipse™ Mobile lets distributors access commonly used Eclipse information, such as customer, order, product, and pricing information, using a wireless mobile device, such as a BlackBerry, Motorola Q, or Palm Treo.

Jeff Folino, director of information technology for Vellano Bros. Inc. in Latham, NY, had this to say about Eclipse Mobile Advanced: "It's much quicker than booting up a laptop, connecting to a wireless Internet service, launching a VPN and loading an application. With a smart phone or PDA, our connection is always on, and access takes a fraction of the time. I'm hopeful I will be able to take some of my laptops and wireless cards out of service."

If you're out in the field with a customer who says, 'I need to place an order right now,' you can place it right there without having to go back to the office. You can also track the status of an order on the spot; you can tell a customer, 'I've got your order in process; it's on the truck and it should get to you by this afternoon.'"
